Website design is the process of planning, conceptualising, and producing a comprehensive set of guidelines, patterns and visual representations that when built become a website. A good parallel is a designer and an architect. Website designs are in a similar vein to an architects drawings and plans, they lay out all the specifics of how the site works and what it looks like at all sizes and states.
